TweetA couple of weeks ago I received what I considered to be a spam message from Kaplan International via my blog’s contact facility and quickly dispatched it to my email trash. For some reason I gave it a second look while I was deleting stuff this evening and found that the provided link actually led to a fairly interesting looking infographic about learning English.
I’m not quite sure where these statistics derive from, nor to their validity, but this infographic may nonetheless make for an interesting classroom discussion with learners of a certain age, i.e teenagers and young adults.

Thanks for pointing that out, Tyson. I have actually sent the link to this post to my students so we can discuss it when we next meet. Firstly, I’d like to see if they feel what’s written here is true, but as important I’d like them to evaluate the source and whether they feel its trustworthiness validates the information therein. I’ll let you know how it goes.
